37-YR-Old Working Mom of 2 Lost 53 Pounds in 8 Months

May 2nd, 2019, was the day I committed to myself. I was one pound away from 200 pounds. There I was, trying to figure out how I had got there, why I wasn't motivated, why I wasn't seeing the weight come off, why I wasn't going out of the house. I promised myself I would NEVER weigh 200 pounds no matter what happened in life, but I was defeated and about to break my promise. I realized I didn't have the tools to fight this on my own, so I turned to someone who had been through the hardship. Enter Brianna Bernard.

Five months later, I have dropped from a pant size 14 to a 4, I can see muscle definition, the energy and positivity I have on a daily basis has changed 180% and it's all from healthier food choices and portions along with a consistent 60-minute workout two times per week. Weight loss was never my ultimate goal and I despise the word "diet". I wanted to learn skills for long-term stability and health. Brianna was able to provide all of that plus so much more.

53-Yr-Old Grandma Loses 52 Pounds in 9 Months Despite Menopause and Health Issues

Brianna Bernard Fitness is the real deal. I have had several health obstacles over the years which made me gain and lose weight. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at age 30 and had a couple of surgeries for fistulas. I am in remission now, but limited on what I am able to eat.

Three years ago, I had a fibroid growing in my uterus that grew to the size of a five-month fetus. I had a hysterectomy and developed staph infection during the surgery and ended up with an open wound in my abdomen and had seven surgeries from March to October of 2016 to remove infected tissue in an attempt to close the wound. Since the hysterectomy, I have been having symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes and trouble staying asleep at night.

I woke up one morning in February of 2019 and decided to seriously make a change. I started following Brianna’s clean eating plan and I lost 29 pounds in the first three months. When the weather started warming up in May in Minnesota, I started walking two miles outside every day and plan to implement a weight lifting program two to three days per week this winter. My diet consists of chicken, tuna, turkey, eggs, lots of veggies and some fruit. For breakfast every single day, I drink an Isopure protein shake with unsweetened vanilla almond milk, spinach, berries and MCT oil.

Brianna’s motivation, her story and positive outlook really helped me realize that I could follow through and make this life change. I have started and stopped SO MANY times over the last couple of years. My goal was to wear size 10 jeans again (I am 5’10). Right now, I am a size 8. I used to wear XL shirts and now I can wear a medium. But it’s not just about the size of my clothes. My motivation for losing weight was to become the healthiest version of myself so I can chase after my grandchildren!
